The letters below are from students in Young's eighth-grade language arts classes. Schools should better plan for snow days A terrible blizzard blew into southern Wisconsin on Dec. 10. The roads and sidewalks were dangerous for cars, buses and walkers. There were many car accidents and at least two people died as a result. In addition, buses needed to drive safely and slowly, therefore most were late and people were tardy for work and school. This storm followed an earlier one, and sidewalks and streets were already a mess. Madison schools should have closed.
